I got into programming by building things people could actually use — apps, APIs, tools that solved real problems.
Early days
Started with web development — React frontends, Node.js APIs, the usual MERN stack grind. Quickly realized the interesting problems lived on the backend: how do you handle real-time events? How do you build systems that don't fall over when traffic spikes? That curiosity pulled me toward Go, Kafka, and backend infrastructure.
Product years
Spent four years building fullstack products — from marketplace infrastructure at Alive.house, to lending platforms at Qiro.fi, and founding engineering at Caddy Finance. Along the way picked up Go for performance-critical services and event pipelines.
What I like building
Backend services, fullstack products, and things that feel a little too ambitious for a side project. LinkCollect started as a bookmark tool and grew to thousands of users. NearTalk was an experiment in anonymous proximity chat. The Hyperliquid indexer was contract work that turned into a deep dive on real-time event processing.
Now
These days I'm open and actively looking for freelance, contract, and full-time roles where I can build backend systems, fullstack products, and the infrastructure that connects them. Still shipping side projects, still learning by rebuilding things, still reading docs at 2am.
How does magic work? You write the right words in the right order and something appears on screen that wasn't there before. Programming is the closest thing to that.
